Weaving (and Woes)

Last night, I finished my purple and orange band of inkle weaving (yay!). Estimating about 4.5 yards of the stuff, which feels like lots. Especially since the only real thought I've had toward using it is to make part of it into a waistband for a skirt.

Also last night, I attempted to wind on a warp made of some very fine singles I bought, and snapped three or four threads before I'd even gotten half of it on the back beam. Peeled that off the loom, and I'll rewarp with something sturdier for the warp tonight. My yarn will work fine for weft, and there's certainly plenty of it now, although I'm a little disappointed in the quality. Ah well. Must learn more about where to get good weaving yarns and what qualities to check for.
