Hmmm. What do I do with my time?
• Dye green linen for K's Persian garb (long sleeved coat and salwar)
• Dye yellow linen for K's Persian garb (short sleeved coat)
• Patterns for K's Persian garb (short sleeved coat)
• Prep and write two signatures of The Riddle-Master of Hed
- Complete practice pages in sketchbook
- Cut sheets for two signatures
- Prep with gum sandarac and penciled layout
- Write black ink
- Rubricate (and verdicate, and lazulicate, and orocate...)
- Paint foliated initial
- Gild
• Cut and punch red plates for lamellar coat
• Wax plates for lamellar coat
• Weave 6 inches of waistband for green and peach silk bliaut
• Remake the yellow cote
• Complete the Regencyish dress
• Plan sewing class for Clothier's
• Finish and submit "Plates" to a lit mag
• Submit "The Carpet" to a lit mag
Not things on this list, that's for sure. I was sick for a whole weekend, when I'd intended to do a great deal. Despite that, I refitted my leg armour and got help from our local armourer to change the attachments so hopefully it'll stop swinging to the outside of my leg when I move.
I also made a new pair of hosen, and a commissioned hat, and wrote for a number of other projects, and finished one small spinning project and started the prep work for another. It hasn't been an unproductive month, all told.
The last thing I did was to decide that I'm not pushing to finish The Riddle-Master in time for Queen's Prize this year. I want this to be a well-done project at the end, not a rushed and stressful one.
